What do you like in an eSports site?

design, no spam, interesting news

Most important to me is ease of use and clearity of structure. I don't want to spend half an hour on a site just to figure out how to use it, and how to get to the parts I'm interested in. Apart from that, many updates and big userbase keep the interest going. A site that doesn't get updated is a dead site.

most sites have crap commenting features, crossfire is easily the one of the best in that regards, but content > * tbh

I'd say its important to have User's Journals so Users can say what they want to say without using a forum ( i hate forums)

I really dont think you can go wrong with the esreality model. The only feature I think that site needs is a listing of news on the top of the page.

Design is valuable, but not THAT necessary. It's a community site, so in the first place it should be for the community (read: comments and forums alike)
Obviously it has to be up-to-date, only normal for a site about eSports, which is constantly changing.

No annoying colours, simple fonts (black), many members who are interested in the news and show so, no honours for posting and no scoring points whatsoever. Really clear navigation and really fast loading (no using pictures as buttons for instance), interested admins who can moderated nicely and really add good replys to discussions. furthermore, you will need some interaction: a poll or main subject.

and last but maybe most important: UPDATE always.
