agree, you might also want to have a look at your services and turn some off (automatic updates, printer spool service, systemrestore, remote control, etc)

Use HijackThis. It will check your PC. Then you check all the weird stuff running at start of your system and press 'fix checked'. You might delete some important MS stuff too so it rocks!
