lol u can get above 2k there :P
edit: sure you can buy the newsest and best PC there is at the moment and pay around €2000 for it but it will be old in a couple of weeks/months so I suggest you build ur own PC so you can replace things easily when something better comes out... and I suggest you stay under the €1000 and save the other €1000 for a vacation or a car or something like that :]

:D:D
i have to buy my pcs with my own money :<
If u want to spend all 2000 euros I don't know cos I haven't had enough money to look for that expensive pc's but:
pentium > amd's n' stuff, dualcore is a must nowadays
nVIDIA > Ati n' stuff
ram at least liek 2048
ps. overally it's good to buy parts and then set it up by yourself if u want pc to be good. usually ready pcs have liek 1 good part and the are adverticed with that and rest sux.
maybe someone from your work / your parents work for that matter that knows about building computers
some stores will even build it if the parts aren't bought from them, but for a fee
so just take some PC from some store, go there and the parts that don't suit you and are shittier (that's the case usually with pre-built PC's, the videocard or sth is really weak)
and change them
don't mix shit pentium name with Core Duo's

the asus board is ok, but a ds3 costs about 100€ less offers quite good performance.
that ram recommendation is crap. g-skill gbhz and cellshock rams are good. actually all mems with micron d9 chips are good. 2gb is not that important if you got a core2duo processor...
If you're set on getting Intel dual core, at least the prices will drop from the release of AMD4x4.
jesus man
If u can do LEGO u can put a computer together.
whatever, i'd not spend much more than 1k euros.
answer the foll0wing questions and i'll post some configuration...
- will you be using your old HDD, monitor, mouse, n stuff
- are you willing to overclock your CPU ( -> cheaper, riskier, c00ler )
- do u need dvd rw, floppy, cd/dvd drive?
-> are your old parts SATA compatible?
übertakten is sowieso selbstverständlich.
ich kenne genug die sowas nie machen würden, ich meine ich hab meinen e6400 auch auf 3,5 rennen mit peltier, also net meckern :P
