only geeks waste their money for computers!
well, wasting parents money isnt that bad. I wont ever spend money on PC parts myself :P
Parent

edit: sure you can buy the newsest and best PC there is at the moment and pay around €2000 for it but it will be old in a couple of weeks/months so I suggest you build ur own PC so you can replace things easily when something better comes out... and I suggest you stay under the €1000 and save the other €1000 for a vacation or a car or something like that :]
well, i get the money from my parents. i say i bought this and they give me money so i cant rlly spend 1000 on car since i wont have it!
Parent
Intel Core Duo 2 e6400 Geforce 7600GT 800 Euro's here save the rest for a car or smth
e6400 is crap, because of its cache :x
Parent
i have it and i have no probs but that my opinion
Parent
lol? show me an application which actively uses 4mb/8mb of cache at desktop level.
Parent
E6400 & E6300 have 4mb cache, but 2 mb cache is blocked.
Parent
your parents will give you 2000 euros for a pc :O
i have to buy my pcs with my own money :<
a pretty good set @ my profile if u want to pay ~1000 euro or bit more for parts and then u or some your nerd mate sets it up. PC set up will cost more.

If u want to spend all 2000 euros I don't know cos I haven't had enough money to look for that expensive pc's but:

pentium > amd's n' stuff, dualcore is a must nowadays
nVIDIA > Ati n' stuff
ram at least liek 2048

ps. overally it's good to buy parts and then set it up by yourself if u want pc to be good. usually ready pcs have liek 1 good part and the are adverticed with that and rest sux.
but like i said i dont know anything about comps, so isnt it hard like opening your comp and putting al the stuff in?>
Parent
not as hard as u maybe think but if u have some mate that knows about that stuff u can ask him to help
Parent
dotn rlly know gamers IRL
Parent
dosn't have to be a gamer tbh

maybe someone from your work / your parents work for that matter that knows about building computers
Parent
Well i live in a frat house and they know shit all about comps and they dont give a damn so i think i would just go to the shop :P
Parent
that reminds me, alot of stores will build a custom PC for you too, if you buy the parts from their store i'm pretty sure almost all stores will build it for you, atleast thats the case in Estonia.

some stores will even build it if the parts aren't bought from them, but for a fee

so just take some PC from some store, go there and the parts that don't suit you and are shittier (that's the case usually with pre-built PC's, the videocard or sth is really weak)
and change them
Parent
k, thanks for the help <3
Parent
yup, same in france
Parent
pffffff thnx aaklord.
Parent
pentium my ass

don't mix shit pentium name with Core Duo's
Parent
yes and its Intel C2D not intel pentium C2D :)

Parent
o'rly? How come? :P
Parent
because I ll never have that amount money to afford a PC like that...but anyway,i dont need a comp like that;)
Parent
If you really want to spend 2000, go with core duo 2 e6600 or higher, 2 gigs of ram, and you can probably get 2X Geforce 8800GTX in sli mode too. That machine would be DX10 ready and would last a good while at high settings.
well i can claim a pc from my parents again so i want a good 1. but not knowing how/what to get limits me so u usually just went to dell.com and ordered something that looked quite OK. But since i want better now i dunno

Haal een pc van rond de 1500

en die andere 500 euro kan jij je geheugen ofzo later upgraden !
You should wait till the R600 from ATI is avaible. If you don't wanna wait, buy 2x Asus 8800GTX in SLI and as CPU Core 2 Duo E6600/6700 with 2gb Ram. Should be good enough...:P
good enough for what? getting benchmark records? jesus... :P

6700 -> too expensive, better take a 6600 if u rly need that 4mb cache, otherwise e6400 are good too.
the asus board is ok, but a ds3 costs about 100€ less offers quite good performance.
that ram recommendation is crap. g-skill gbhz and cellshock rams are good. actually all mems with micron d9 chips are good. 2gb is not that important if you got a core2duo processor...
Parent
Wait for AMD4x4. The 4x4 platform takes two dual core AMD chips and has 4 16x pci-e slots, so that's 4 cores and 4 gpus.

If you're set on getting Intel dual core, at least the prices will drop from the release of AMD4x4.
perfo will fly like superman and come build it for u np
zomg u are stupid to put so much money on computer :x
jesus man
http://tweakers.net/reviews/663/4

If u can do LEGO u can put a computer together.
Its more like Meccano, but yes he speaks truth its simple to build a pc!
Parent
hi aeq, you might be half decent now! :D
ok nubz, wasting parent's money = gay.
whatever, i'd not spend much more than 1k euros.
answer the foll0wing questions and i'll post some configuration...

- will you be using your old HDD, monitor, mouse, n stuff
- are you willing to overclock your CPU ( -> cheaper, riskier, c00ler )
- do u need dvd rw, floppy, cd/dvd drive?

-> are your old parts SATA compatible?
alter du pro hast ja keinen plan.
übertakten is sowieso selbstverständlich.
Parent
also nicht bei jedem!
ich kenne genug die sowas nie machen würden, ich meine ich hab meinen e6400 auch auf 3,5 rennen mit peltier, also net meckern :P
Parent
i made a list ( actually Ronner did ) :
Artnr. Artikel Aantal Prijs

5256 Samsung 19 inch 997MB Dynaflat CRT Monitor (SM997MB) € 182,95
Parent
thats fine (if you dont mind ripping off your parents)! Only I dont get it why you shouldnt buy a nice Antec case equipped with a good psu. Buying that Asus psu thingy, dunno... The speaker set you dont need since you just use your headset all the time I guess, if you do want a speakerset and you want to save some space you can go for the Z-2300 ( http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/NL/NL,CRID=2173,CONTENTID=9372 )
Oh and why is the harddisk so expensive? (I sell Hitachi 320GB SATA2 16MB cache for about €100 in my expensive shop :P Maybe its a difference I didnt notice. http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/144595/Hitachi-Deskstar-T7K500-320GB-(7200RPM-SATA-II-16MB-NCQ-RoHS)-prijzen.html)

2 times hardrive and indeed i could spare on the sound. but i need good sound for music :P
Parent
hmm... just checked your profile and the stuff you have now isn't really bad...
lol, its better than mine
