Introducing Frost_comp

I want to introduce you to Frost. The map will be used at cpc2, so you will meet this map more and more in the future.

There are two stages in this map, I included a screenshot of them both. The allies start off on the hills, get over the ravine and plant the two side walls. Next they capture CP which will give them an advanced spawnpoint.

Once they secured teh CP, they can move on and get the documents which they have to bring back to the truck.

First Stage

1. Once the allies blow this wall they can build CP
2. Or they can blow this wall and open the main gate and build the CP.
3. The allies need to bring the objective to this truck.
4. Inside this building lies the advanced spawn of both Axis and Allies. Whoever owns the cp spawns here.
5. This is the Allied first spawn.


Second Stage

1. This is the main entrance to the document room.
2. This is the Axis spawn once they lose the CP
3. This is the backdoor to the document room.
4. nside this building lies the advanced spawn of both Axis and Allies. Whoever owns the cp spawns here.

Atm the big question is if the allied first spawn needs any more cover and wether the advanced spawn is in the right position. Also, I dont see why the truck couldnt be outside so the docrun is even longer. Those are just my brainfarts, havent played the competition version so far :P

Perhaps change the name to avoid confusion? Or better yet, just stop using frostbite in ET.
I find frostbite to be one of the more enjoyable maps to play.

It's always been a pretty popular wolf map in Australia/New Zealand.

Interesting. I had a look at the older version awhile back and I think it was played in a 3v3 AU comp, but it probably wasn't suited to comp.

Hopefully this version is better suited, but at first glance it doesn't look like all that much has changed...
we played it 6v6 and there were some things that really annoyed ppl like the cp chockepoint being to easily defended with mines and spam, the docrun being to short and the long spawnpoints which made you run for 10 seconds before you could actualy get into combat.

I still think the doc run could be made longer, just move the truck out of the axis base, maybe even to the first allied spawn. Also, the axis should be to use forward spawn if they destroy the cp, meaning they dont have to actually build cp, allies just cannot have the cp if axis want to use forward spawn.

I also believe the advanced spawn is better balanced now. And yes, i believe this map sucks at 3vs3, but a lot of ET maps suck in 3vs3 :P Imho give it a try, it has all the stuff ppl like. Trickjumping out of spawn for the jumpers, dynas for the xpwhores, lots of walls and boxes for the cheaters , good fps, an RTCW feel and last but not least: docruns which add a lot of drama to ET :D

No, you were prolly running the map on your own client, rather then playing it on a server. I think thats wolffog, and it has been disabled a couple of months ago.

I don't like that messy screenshots, make a perfect config and take the screenshots, add some nice effects in photoshop (such as lens flares all over the pic) and people will fall in love! PROMISE.
The textures look nice, a bit rtcw-styled, could be slightly darker tho. Can't say anything about the playability since I haven't tried it yet.

The top of the biggest bookcases in the allies command post spawn room are missing a texture, you can see inside them when you jump on top of the bookcase.
