does i have to change r_mode?

as Goliath said, and remember:

r_mode "-1"

with r_mode 8 ull get bad FPS if u have bad PC aswell. Do like they said ( r_mode -1 + that Goliath settings ( is like r_mode 6 )

PS. widescreen = not for games

u can handle your resolution with r_customheight & r_customwidth
