Affinity Selector

Iv been manually setting the affinity for Vent, IRC, Xfire and HSLW to the second Core away from ET as I was getting huge fps lags all the time so I googled for this little proggie to set the affinity permanently and thought it was worth a journal might help others out with lag problems or whatever, Its simple and easy to use.

Mmm, must give it a try at my parents pc :P But how can you have fps lag on a dual core? The bloody thing never goes below 166fps without touching one setting ...

i know when i first got my pc it was fine, but after i installed anti-virus then ran irc vent xfire, i was gettin direct fps lags from them programmes once i moved them it was fine.

don't run xfire + ET, it causes FPS lags. But thanks for teh nice applet.

except that its not working.. when I change the affinity to 2 processors in ET, it will reset to just one processor when ET loads a map.

Afaik all programmes use 2 cores as default,but 0 = 2 Cores, 1 = Core0 2= Core1

my ET doesnt, I changed it once cuz I was told it can solve my fps troubles, after that, I never got it back to 2 processors. I even formated my computer but its stil running on just one processor. im getting lower fps when its set on 1 prrocessor.

You can change it manually in task manager if you right click on ET and click set affinity,

but the proggie should work,

try under "Modify affinity mask in executables" select the ET.exe and click "Toggle Uniprocessor bit"

yes I know I can change it, I always do. I need to change it after every fucking map.

and no, that uniprocessor thing didnt work either. it gets reseted when ET loads a map.

no you dont, If your adding it for IRC etc use the option on the right hand side "Set affinity on process creation" for it to work properly
