ET under Vista

Ello =)

I installed vista 2 weeks ago and wanted to play some ET today, so reinstalled everything etc...

Seems i get these HUGE fps lags, and fps doenst even get higher then 40.


I know about the backward compatability feature in Vista, and am using that. Both the 98 as XP are working, but do not make any improvement for the FPS lags


Anyone got an idea what's holding back ET? It also seems like loading et takes 2-3 times as long like Vista is considering ET as a background service and limiting resources or something!

HELP!!!!!!

P.S. ultimate edition btw

I'm not talking about that... I'm talking about the bug fixes... Vista has too much bugs and things that don't work properly so I suggest you wait untill SP1 comes out.

ahh ye.. i wouldnt recoomend it to use it for all programs, since UAC is still flawed, but i like the graphic windows etc..

it's a nice OS, and office works fine, thats about all i need! :)

Except that ET doesnt work..makes me a little bit sad :(

You can easily bypass the UAC, with a simple script.

tbh, the successor to Vista is already well into production stages according to Steve Ballmer (Microsoft's new CEO). The next Windows should be out in couple of years. If they're already making it, and given the slow sales of Vista since its release, MS obviously know it's shite. I think I'm going to wait until the next version of Windows comes along tbh. XP SP2 will be supported until around 2009, because Windows 98 was fully supported with updates by MS up to 2006.

I've used Vista and tbh, it's extremely messy. I would imagine your FPS lag is due to the fact that Vista just eats memory, CPU and graphics power. It's by no means suitable for ANY gamer in it's current state, hence why Dell only ship their XPS gaming systems with XP MCE instead of Vista like all their other systems.

no video drivers available for Vista ... ( NVIDIA)
i just instal both Xp and vista , and use xp to game, vista for the rest

so i deinstalled it
i gonna install it when there is no betadrivershit anymore
