movie under vista

got et running fine
but then i wanted to watch a movie and the screen stayed black. i could hear the sound but the nice black screen stayed.
its a .vob file

i tried both vlcmediaplayer and bsplayer

any suggestions.

dont think so this is a clean install.
you know what codecs are needed?

do you have dual screens? If so make sure your watching it on your primary monitor
