Its a film trying to make war look good with the persions (aka Iran) made out to look like animals
Wonder if this film makes anyone else slightly uncomfortable
Well I didnt quite mean it like that, It was ok, glad to have watched it and all that, but it certainly isnt worth the rating it has on IMDB and the journals.
imdb :D i think most of the films being in the top 250 are great films but YES some other films that are hugely underrated should have belonged to this list :(
I had a big argument typed up but I deleted it because I just can't be bothered arguing much.
So, what I want to say is that WAY too many people are taking this WAY too seriously. First it's based on a comic book, and second it's a narrative told from the perspective of a Spartan who fought in the battle - so it's obviously going to portray the Spartans as true warriors and the Persians as cowards, animals, monsters or whatever.
yea you're damn right, films are sometimes taken too seriously and everybody sees innuendos or threats against their own countries, nations, whatever
:)
I thought it was great, and I really don't think the splashes of blood disappearing wasn't intentional, I thought it added to the 'comic book' feel it has throughout.
i saw this film yesterday and i think it wasnt that good, it reminds me a bit of lotr 3, few guys against many nations etc...here 1 spartan could kill 500 persians (at least, maybe more), that made me actually smile (handsome and white spartans against weak and low persians, it may be the reason why some people consider this film racist)
however i must admit the effects cant be criticized, i even enjoyed them but the story had no real solid basis, i mean 300 just told a story, nothing more, maybe because the film was shot in 60 days, i dont know and i dont really care either
and to conclude this retarded comment : people should nonetheless see it because this film has brought a new way of making film
the difference between lotr3 and 300 is that 300 is based on a real thing. idd the 1vs500 is a bit exaggerated but the spartan army really were 300 against many, many persians. simply because they wanted to delay them and never intended to win. ^^
if what i say has nothing to do with what u meant, then simply ignore me
my name's Leonidas, i own you all, i'm getting a fucking boner watching all these quotes, i want to see the movie now but i want to wait for the cinemas to realease it in sweden =(((
