I've got some Seagate SATA-II disk and i'm having problems.
Linux was installed on it, but since WinXP installer is stupid, it doesen't recognize hard disks in case there is a linux partition on it. So I installed vista to try it (which recognized it), but I don't like it and I wanna move back to my old debian+WinXP system, but now when there aren't any linux partitions on it, it still doesen't recognize it!
Note: Vista installer does recognize it and so do some linux-distro installers, but XP is a bitch!

or if u have another ide hdd mayb install windows on that then install the sata hdd from that ;o
What Version of XP? I had this problem with Home Edition, worked fine with professionell tho.
Just a thought: S-ATAII is newer than XP, so how would be able to recognise it anyway?
Buggy OS!
If you have a CD with a pre Service Pack 2 version, you will have to install a driver for your HDD during installation
i thought it already had the drivers since it's newer :p
will try installing it tommorow.

Press f6 @ when you enter windows installation after boot
