sup there?
It's just political posturing, the political scene would make war practically impossible, especially since Estonia is now a NATO member. And I think they realise that it is, after all, just one monument. It's merely an excuse to try and get some political leverage back ;)
Who cares lol , was a bloody night , but today everything is normal , like it was , the monument is far away , so.. :<
So basicly they are just bunch of kids tryeing to do something great. People are dieing and all they can think is a monument. Fuck really I think things are like in wrong order here....
russia is also trying to disconnect all diplomatic relashionships to estonia
Yes , that's right ;<

Can anyone explain whats going up there?
There was a monument some times (liek 70 yearz) it just was there , nothing special , then some fucking estonian guy from parlament ( andrus antsip) wanted to take it the fuck away from there (dunno why) , so russians went agressive and everything was fucked , bloody night , everything was burning , marauders @ center of city etc... but atm everything is "allmost" normal

P.S Monument - A bronze soldier, was standing for russians soldiers who died in 2nd WW , there also they corps there...

Afaik there is this monument. The native estonians think it's a symbol of the SU owning Estonia and the russians living in Estonia think its a tribute to the Russian soldiers that died in WWII. Right?

yea, its very complicated. the monument symbolizer other ppl for other things than other = dispute.

So basically there was this monument. That should have been removed ages ago but for one reason or another it simply wasn't. The reason behind wanting to remove this monument is that Soviet Union minded people gathered there at times celebrating May 9 (Victory Day) and September 22 (occupation of Tallinn in 1944). These people on those gatherings did not just mourn their fallen ancestors but held speeches for Soviet Union thus against Estonia and waved with former Soviet Union flags and other symbolics.

The supporters of the statue claim that it resembles the fallen soldiers who liberated Europe and among that also Estonia from Nazi Germany. For most of the Estonian Estonians it resembles the occupation that followed shortly thereafter and lasted for 50 years.

The thing is that the statue and the alleged grave under it was in the very center of Tallinn and at the beginning of this year a law was passed in our parliament that the grave will be reburied to a more suiting place away from the noise of the city (There is a public transport stop just some 50m away)

There was supposed to be a religious ceremony and what not before the reburial, but after the things that unfolded last night in Tallinn the government decided to remove the statue. It was removed some time early this morning.
