weird sounds in et

i have a problem, since i had to reboot my computer yesterday after having big fps lags my sounds in et are different. everytime when someone is shooting at me or i'm shooting at him, it sounds weird, its like a noise, like smth is crushed. everything else in et sounds equal then before, nades, supports etc. the strange thing is, it can't be my headset, because on vent i can cleary hear everything same as before.
i didnt change anything on my pc before, my settings are the same like before.

pls help.... :(

I just can say that I have the same with > s_volume 0.9. But you have written that you didn't change anything so all in all: no idea.

Check that these are all at proper values:
seta s_channels "2"
seta s_bits "16"
seta s_wavonly "0"
seta s_defaultsound "0"
seta s_mixPreStep "0.05"
seta s_mixahead "0.12"
seta s_khz "22"
seta s_doppler "1"
seta s_separation "0.5"
seta s_musicvolume "0"
seta s_volume "0.8"
Although some of them, like s_khz won't affect how things sound, just the quality of the sound.

volume 0.8
seta s_khz "44"
seta s_mixahead "0.2"
seta s_mixPreStep "0.02"
others are same...

but with these settings it works before. :/

use s_mixprestep 0.05, 100% solves the prob

before i had mixprestep 0.02 and now i changed it to 0.05 and it works.

i had the same.. i tryed lots of things.. .didnt work.. so,, after format my pc and reinstall ET, it worked fine
