2.) Make sure you have installed the good drivers for your HW.
The problem has something to do with Vista or your drivers. You probably haven't installed the proper drivers. And Vista is still in the early stages so most of the drivers don't work like they should. You also have a "new" GPU and I heard that the drivers for your GPU still have some problems with Vista.
Your memory could also be causing the problem. I advice you to run a memtest.
Edit: I just saw the post of fuzz... How much W does your PSU have?
Edit2: Have you checked your temperatures? Since you have a ASUS MB I think you have received a CD with the drivers. Somewhere on that CD you should find ASUS PC Probe, it measures your HW temperatures like your MB and CPU. To measure your GPU temperature download NVIDIA nTune.
ET does work, but his PC crashes after a while. I doubt it has something to do with Vista + ET since it happens with all the games he has tried.
Example XP: 5 Years old, 2 Service Packs, tonns of hotfixes and still far away from beeing a bugfree/secure Operating system
haven't encountered any security problems or bUgs during this time, weird, isn't it?
i am just saying that for typical home user who has fw and antivirus and uses his pc for playing games, downloading, internets, xp is pretty much bugless and secure
and if user can't set up fw and antivirus and then blames OS for everything, linux'n'shit won't help him either...
But believe me there were plenty of bugs, otherwise the servicepacks/hotfixes, would not have been released.
