Next Intel Laptop Generation?

As some of you might know, my current laptop is dieing. I managed to trip over a cable pulling the laptop crashing down to the ground and its never been the same since (i.e. the case dosent fit together anymore!), so I am only half thinking at the moment about whether I can afford another one and whether I should start saving my pennies for a new one.

Last time I got one, I posted a journal and some nice man said STOP wait a couple months for the next generation of Intel dual cores as they do this that and the other. That nice man was very correct!

What I'm wondering is if anyone knows of another generation coming soon? I bought this laptop in September with a T7200 which was then the 'next' generation. I read on hexus briefly some words of another generation, does anyone know any more about this? When its coming and what it does etc?

macbook >* as it's so easy to upgrade, just slot extra ram in. you can make one 2gb ram i believe.

Yeah, apple just updated their macbook line, but there'll probably be another update in 6 months. You can dual boot xp on the macbook pretty easily - They are, also, not as expensive as you'd think.

tosspot next month the next gen of core 2 duo's are released on the dell machines with direct x 10 etc etc, slightly faster cpu, wireless n that sort of thing

next month was the answer I was looking for :D Danke!

I want to go Dell because they seem more heavy duty than the fujitsu siemens that I currently have. But Dell dont do real gfx only hypermemory on 15 inches and I really dont want a 17 inch :/

when i spoke to my dell account manager (when i had one :> ) he said that the cpu's with the higher end nvidia graphics would be another month after the first release, so expect to wait 2 months for the integrated nvidia 256 and 512 mb graphics onboard. The D630 will be the first laptop that will be released i think and will suit nicely.

well i have T2400 with GF7600Go also.
just want a new and better laptop but dont want those expensive and massive half-laptops-half-computers what weight 4kgs.

so i guess i must wait maybe 1-1,5 years untill 8xxx series grafic cards goes to notebooks also. then its right time to buy new one :)

The intel "santa rosa" chipset is due out in the next month or so, these notepads/laptops will also feature dX10 gfx cards.
