graphic card?

atm im using the ATI-Radeon 9550 graphic-card and get ~80fps with, if i have ping 50 and have only ts on, and no other programs.

i can pay up to 40€, is there any card for this i get rly more fps with?

I have a dual core 1.6GHz lappy with intel 950 graphics... I barely get constant 60 fps @ lowest details & res, on the fps friendly maps

Back home, with the same graphics card as yours, I get 76 fps in 1024x768, with decent quality settings, and CPU is kinda similar (Athlon XP 2000+)

jap true, i just forced the cvar in the source (moviemod). I think it got "deactivated" since q3 kept crashing in smp mode. RTCW has smp activated i think.

EDIT: maybe its because of my 64 bit xp also.

I dunno if it works on vdub, it works with ET \ other programs and games.


Also if you're rendering with x264 I recall something in x264 settings allowing you to enable dual-core.

Yea, that's why i said the CPU is kinda similar: 1.6GHz compared to XP 2000+ (1.66 GHz, actually)

Why not? As it always stays around 50% (ET single threaded), as long as I don't run other things in parallel (let's take the ideal situation), both CPU's should have *around* the same processing power. It's true, the weird thing is both the cpu's stay at 50%, instead of one high and the other low, as it happens when I run "I dunno what other single threaded cpu-intenssive program".

I got GF 5300 and i got stable 125fps on all maps + 150-200 on some maps like braundorf,bremen and few places & supply.
