Journals
The pirate bay, a site well known for it's looting and swashbuckling, has announced a bold new project: a youtube style video site. The site, which will be moderated only by the community, is currently in the beta stage with a small proportion of live content. As mentioned before, the most exciting aspect of this gambit is the community moderation: no longer will an xfire journal be hampered by a "content has been removed" message.
Community moderation sounds like a nice idea, but it has to be wondered whether this type of moderation will be effective in the face of mass porn uploads: how long will it be before the site degrades into nothing more than a glorified porn archive? Failing that, one has to contemplate thepiratebay's strategy with regard to copyright notices. The content will be hosted on pirate bay services, the impunity with which the bittorrent site operates will no longer be available, they will have to operate inside the law.
Will this site be a youtube killer? Or will it fade into pergatory with the myriad other internet start ups? The onus is on you, the users: you decide!

At best it''ll be a poor mans google video, go the same way as their island...
Although, stage6 seems to be the new favorite with TV and movie uploaders. I can't blame them, the quality on that site is stunning when you compare it with youtube and dailmotion: you can also download the videos to your hard drive without the need for fancy application.
oh i see the upgrade window just cant click anything must be my firewall blocking it.
Guess im gonna watch some prisonbreak instead.
GOODNIGHT!
The only reason people were pissed was because of the money donated, but I'd be suprised if that didn't go back into this project or indeed the other, more secret one.
as this is probably it
