Well, the game could keep me occupied for a few hours, but it doesnt have that little extra thing :/
You should try out Vega Strike. Its a space flight simulater, based on Elite. The nice thing about the game is the movement. Much like the Quake they made these awesome fysics which require skill to master, but once you learnt it its so much fun :P
The movement is based upon a 'spec' drive which allows you to be pushed by big objects like planets, stars even other spaceships. The further you are away from objects the harder they push on you. The result is some nice momevent and lots of tricks you can learn to control the direction you are going at or change direction fast (</3 inertia)
In Vega Strike, planets and stars become like big hills you want to avoid or make loops around them to maintain some speed rather then passing by close and having to travel a long time at a slower speed because you are so near to the planet. Add a 'shelton slide' button which allows you to watch in a different direction then you are actually traveling and the game becomes even more fun.
