building a pc

I'm thinking of building myself another pc, and i'd like to know if anyone can give me some advice on some processors, mobos, memory and graphics cards :).

uses for pc: gaming, photoshop, movie making, coding.

edit: havent thought about price just say some stuff.

Would be much appreciated!

all is ok but the 8800 gtx is useless (at that price) so the GTS will be just fine.
also if buying 500GB it's better to buy 2 raptors :)
with the memory i would wait 1 or 2 months untill the ddr3 will come out, then the ddr2 will be really cheap and if u can buy dd3 it's better :>

edit:

also for movie making/Gaming if you gonna buy ddr2 so go for 1024mhz they are not that expensive.

yep GTS will be enough.
But 1 raptor costs more than that 500 gig drive.. your decision..

its all about how much money u got
most ppl here will always tell u to buy the best stuff or wait a bit to get the best for 1000€ or smth....
i bought mine 1 month ago, around 600€ (without case+psu, given by my brother hehe (would cost around 150))
i just saved some money with my gfx card, costs around 140€ or smth
but the cpu is a bit expensive with 220€

get a good dual core processor, and a nice card from nvidia... :P and well, get 2gb memory, make sure its not too slow though.... and well... what else do you need help with! >:/ and well... take the best parts you can with the money you got! :)

quatro Xeon quad core, sli geforce 8850 32 gb ram 10 discs 500 gb each in RAID 6, creative X-FI pro np.
don't forget a PPU, find a mobo supporting everything and you got a pc for the next 5 years.
