Xfire (Program) etc

Why does it update so often? I'm on a real slow dial up connection and it takes 7> minutes to update the damn thing.
Is there any way to stop it from updating game lists and current versions?

Also,
What's with so many cheat journals and news posts these days? I noticed Keran and Shy getting banned and the usual 'cheaters at x server' journals but have I missed something else that I havn't had a chance to read about yet?

Yes, however, i'll be going to see Shrek 3 soon so that should make me happy again :D

xfire updates are to support new games and they are still developping new functions etc.
