Punkbuster.exe ?

Anyone knows what the problem is, I just played ET yesterday as normal and now I suddenly got big fps drops.

edit: this only starts up when I start up ET

EDIT Solution: Go to "\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\pb\" and remove "PnkBstrK" + "PnkBstrB", problem solved ;>

no worm, its from PB.

there should also be a PnkBstrA that starts up PnkBstrB. I also get a fps drop when its open, but you cant do nothing. When you end it, you get kicked from the server for packetloss and it restarts. You can however close PnkBstrA and nothing will happen.
It's not even new, i saw it like a month ago, I dunno why everyone here is acting so suprised and thinking it's a worm or something.

It used to be some beta version (maybe final now ?) of punkbuster which runs as service in windows, which means you don't need administration rights to make pb to work.. or whatever.
According to pb the beta is limited to persons who signed up for it... how i got it while playing cod2 is a miracle to me.

Anyway to remove it:

Run that program en press uninstall or do what Lightning said (however that doesn't remove some files from the system32 dir) ;p

run -> msconfig -> disable them if all else fails(which happened here ^^)

you dont need it if you play with admin rights.
Thats for the users that dont play with admin rights then pb runs as a windows service.

If you run with admin rights so you can delete it if you want.
