offside

whats the rule where a player is offside even when he's clearly a long way before the last defender? i often see this when balls are played from the attacking team's own half.

if attacking player is still on his own half when pass is given hes clear to go
ass I said, if the "offside" player still is on his own half, it cant be offside

if he is past the last defender when the ball is kicked he is offside, afaik there is no special rule, maybe you're just wrong, or the linesmen are blind.
no the attacker is definately before the last defender
Parent
if the one who passed the ball is infront of the attacker, there is no offside
Parent
exactly the one receiving the ball should be behind or in line the player passing the ball!
Parent
if he is not "active" (so he isnt involved with the play then he isnt offside) if he is then passed the ball then he would be offside.

remember that the offside rule applies only to half the pitch :)
If a player started from his own half, then he can't be in offside. But I think I completly missed the point. :/
offside in croquet is when you run in front of the guy about to hit his coloured sphere with his mallet my good man.
running onto the oppositons half during gameplay maybe or hand over the net is kinda being offside :<
