who cares about the names of the aliens? I was referring to the fact that ET:QW is a NEW GAME which has nothing to do with ET (except stealing it's name). It's a personal opinion. And about the competition... All the whine about vehicles and stuff... The game will evolve, like any other game.
ET proved to be more succesfull than they hoped.. So why shouldn't they use the things which made ET like it is now. They are trying to combine the best things from several games...

in et you got these big boxes n stuff , you dont have to be so accurate to hit the players and sometimes you shoot guys who are standing behind a wall coz of this shit but i am sure you know about this fact :p. hitzones are polygon/pixel based hitsystems you can aim on all bodyparts of the player and you are able to hit (hands n stuff) but if you shoot between the legs (example) there is no pixel of the model etc. and no bullet will arrive his target in et you would hit him because of this bigass hitbox
Quake 4 used the Doom 3 engine as well and they removed polygon hit detection because it just doesnt work online, ET:QW will use hitboxes as well (five I think, so it will at least be more accurate than in W:ET)
That's called per-polygon hitdetection. It might seem cool, but takes a lot more resources. And tbh I don't know any decent mp game which used it.
It's better to have more accurate hitboxes (e.g. a cylinder for each leg instead of a cube), like every other sane game.

The german "Trefferzone" means hitbox as well. Either you use a hitbox or you use per-poly hitdetection. (a zone is an area not a "dot")
Think about yours. If they don't make any profit from their game, they will think twice about what the next game is going to be like. And I don't think we need another Counter Strike.

SplashDamage made W:ET as non-commercial product, immeadiatly after W:ET was released they started working together with id to create a new title (ETQW), they have been working on this game for four years already, spending huge ammounts of time in the developement progress.. And the only thing you can whine about is that it isn't like our precious W:ET..
You never gave them anything back for their work on W:ET, at least you can give them your respect for ET:QW.
Respect ? splashdamges gives a fuck about the ppl who are playing this game , they produced just a random battlefield like shooter with the name of enemy territory to get the old et/rtcw players and the players of battlefield :x money > all
the clan community will change the game drastically for competition just like vanilla et went to the et we play today
