518 vs g5

is there a big difference in shape? i find the g5 kinda unconformatable to hold at times, i'm thinking of getting a 518, since the shape is meant to be more similar to the 510, which i loved :( i've been looking at some pictures, and the 518 looks pretty much the same, but is it?

yes its kinda different cant explain that but the feeling when you aim is pretty different ( not in a bad way )

well, i had both but i think that g5 is better. I prefer my g5 that the mx518. + u can use 2000 dpi

g5 SUCKS I just got rid of it, and bough myself a rzr Diamondback <3, G5 is just a waste of money imo....

mx518 is the same as mx510, yes!

g5 is a laser mouse so you should not even consider using it :c

since the g5 has 2 side buttons I rate both the same. Take which feels better, laser (G5) or optical (518)

The shape is exactly the same. The reason why your aiming feels differently with the G5 is probably caused by the position of the laser.

no difference in size - both too big :x

g5 has more of a feel of quality to it than the mx518 but the g5 I had broke after about a year

the shape is the same .. no fuckin difference

i got both here next to me .. both in use ..

the only difference is the weight, the g5 weights more than the 518 ..

and to all saying G5 sucks or 518 > G5 ..

they are 2 different technologies .. so stop comparing infrared with laser technology! .. i like both, both kick ass .. just, my 518 is sort of too wasted and the G5 refresh (2 thumb buttons) feels as good as the 518, even abit better..

G5 = laser
518 = optical

laser sux @ high speed (low sens) and overall optical>laser so you're better off with 518
