hmmmmm, let's see... Amorphis (maybe not that similar, but still much better :D), Avantasia, Blind Guardian, Demons & Wizards, EdGuy, Gamma Ray, Helloween, Human Fortress, Masterplan, Pain Of Salvation (Haven't heard too much of them, but seems they have some good songs), Rhapsody, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius. Might also add Falconer, although I'm not a big fan, most of my friends with the same music taste as me like them very much. What I've heard of Freedom Call is also pretty good.

Amorphis is NOT better tbfh, Amorphis has a few "nice" songs, but that's it...
Blind guardian is shit
EdGuy = nice, but for music similar to EdGuy but waaaay better look for: Whitesnake , DIO , AC/DC , Stryper , Motley Crue, Van Halen
Masterplan = just shit
Rhapsody is completely different music, can't be compared, and isn't that top notch technically too...
Sonata Arctica is good (seeing them live in a few months together with Epica), but not as good as Kamelot for sure!!!

The rest I don't know about...

But those bands you list there are not at all similar to EdGuy. And I must admit that the EdGuys latest album is pretty crappy.

those bands ARE actually all similar to EdGuy, since they are from the progressive hardrock genre...

None of them are progressive... Not even EdGuy. Whitesnake is actually more glam rock than anything else. Rest of them is mostly just plain and simple hard rock, whereas edguy is power metal.

Kamelot is nice, but tbh Epica > all (in the goth-scene that is).

Imo this is one of the best Kamelot songs (duet with Shagrath from Dimmu Borgir) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWSbtBJ6bxU&mode=related&search=

Tbh, their best song is Descent of the Archangel (can't find it @ youtube though, yea, only a shitty live version).

This is my favorite band, Epica, I'm seeing 'em live the 7th of juli again at Trailerpop @ Ahoy Rotterdam.
