ETQW Impression

After getting lucky and getting a beta key tonight I started it up default CFG first and played a couple classes a bit.
First thing that struck me was. "ok. ugly gfx imo. Nothing compared to what was advertised and this is the default cfg" so I turn to the settings and tried it all on highest quality possible. Same thing, still ugly.
I wasn't all too impressed tbh and the fps was horrible (athlon 4200+ dualcore with a 6800GT (overclocked to ultra) (yah yah, my 7950gx2 is in the shop for repairs))
So since the fps was really shit, I tried Dream's uberlow quality cfg and pretty much had the same thing. FPS wouldn't go up much higher than 30 to 40 and sometimes indoors it would go up to 50 or 60 but that's all I could squeeze out of it. Mostly it was 30 or less.
Besides the disappointment in what was advertised graphicswise and what I had on screen I think the game itself was dissappointing as well. The weapons sound silly, movement feels slow and overall it didn't feel good.
It's just my first impression so perhaps it will change overtime, but atm I'm quite dissappointed in the game so far and I'm pretty sure the ET community will not massively move over to this game once it's released cuz right now it feels like a bad mix of BattleField and ETMain.

You should be less predictable!
i agree with you ronner, the gameplay and movment is pretty slow... as named in the song made by our beloved meez. :O)
i mean, this is still beta right? if everyone starts complaining about the slow movement maybe it's not too late for them to change that or am i wrong?
If you look at gfx for example - its nothing amaizin and its just killing graphic card [2x7950 here]ofc you can get stable fps when you cut cfg to pacman age.
Sound is horrible
I prefer bf insted of this - another wannbe product.
when they're done optimizing the game the system requirements usually become much lower
Whole game play is stiff and kinda bf like im its rly nasty clone
I was stuck on 30-35, im now happily over 60 in outdoor areas and around 80 indoors.
I would also urge people to play it more than a few hours before writing it off. First off i didnt like the game, no im learning what everything is and how to play well and im loving it.
( 2.53 ghz, radeon 9700, 1024mb ram )
well, the game looks like utter crap ( inside i don't get any textures at all, the walls and everything is just white, you don't even see where you got to go ).
the aim system is crap, the whole game is lame like hell.
and the vehicles suck ass.
i'll try it with my better computer next week, but i think THIS game is just pure bullshit and has nothing to do with ET.
- Vehicle controls are poopoo (unless i'm the only one not able to drive them properly)
- Sensitivity settings are soo damn different from ET.
- With the 20 FPS my laptop could squize out (with everything on low quality), i couldn't hit shit.
- Why does there have to be such a huge thing around my crosshair ffs. :/
- Spread / Hitboxes....
+ The game succeeded in screwing my Windows (XP) gamma & brightness so i got stuck with a Windows enviroment @ gamma 3 & brightness 3, every time i booted. Took me >30 minutes to figure out how i could turn the settings to normal again.
Apart from that I'm sure the Battlefield players will enjoy it.
Fullscreen => gamma 3 => smallscreen => exit game => start game in smallscreen => reboot. Result: 1 screwed ATi card. xD
Fixed it by resetting the Color stuff to default in CCC.
