Cool! You guys got gimnazjum -> In holland we have got Gymnasium. When you study @ Gymnasium, it means you'll get Latin and greek besides your study. Is that in poland as well?
Yeah, I actually thought the same when I had to pick my education. At first I wanted to pick Gymnasium (with latin and greek) but when I started thinking about the job I'd like to have in the future (which is economitristical guy) I realized I didn't need it. Besides, all the dutch Nerds are on gymnasium. I'm currently studying "Higher education" (vwo) in english, (tvwo), which is called Tweetalig Atheneum.
So, we've got 2 sorts of higher education - Gymnasium and Atheneum, and you can eventually study them in English. Complicated, eh? ;)
imo only the education on higher level have some influence on job u want to do in future. In poland u have an alternative, u can go to liceum and after it continue ur higher education on studia, or go to smtg like szkola zawodowa, which is longer then liceum but main aim of such school is learning the job, such as builder etc
the original word for gymnasium basically means "gym", so a logical explanantion would be that gimnazjum is more of a physical education rather than a theoretical one

Yes here also you can meet such persons :l but u have to be rly poor if u dont have money for cosmetics and other stuff.
