The alpha footage already looks better than ET:QW.

So if CoD4 > ET:QW, ET:QW > W:ET, seriously, an W:ET player talking about looks already makes me lol ;D

CoD4 will be a great game, but its CoD2 in a new skin and with nicer graphics, and maybe more interesting scripted events (best case scenario)
