pink one is pci or smth
pci express? so i can actually buy PCI graphics cards? hope this is right because before i was stuck only buying AGP cards..
Parent
It's not pci-e, it's reguler pci :)
the first one is the agp slot for the gfx card
Parent
it's PCI, not PCI-E :)
Parent
so i cant put gfx cards in there?
Parent
nope, things like netcards and soundcards goes there
Parent
:P
i want to see you use this card instead of your own...

i think even the good old voodoo went to agp
Parent
you can, but only pci-gfxcard, i had one 10 years ago
Parent
I remember my Matrox millenium 8 MB ISA GFX card... after a little while I got a Voodoo PCI card! HOLY SHIT THAT WAS SICK!

*EDIT*
Ahhh just found a site that has pictures from Q2, with regular SVGA and 3DFX :)
http://www.marky.com/3d/quake2/compare/content.html

It made such a huge difference, then the riva cards came with FireGL, instead of OpenGL... that looked so nice in Q2 :)
Parent
haha, had the same matrox card before :D
Parent
u can buy pci gfx but thats rly rly old.
Parent
ahah paint ftw :D
olol so funny
id say 2 of the ram sticks are 128mB and 2 are 256 mB xD
they all say 256 on the outside :o
Parent
Maybe one stick isn't working or something? :D
Parent
maybe one isnt working!
Parent
try to remove first one, then the next, then the next card, then you should find out if one is broken or if some of them aren't working properly
Parent
Those other slots on the first pic are spare AGP? slots
EDIT:
My motherboard shows the pci/e slots in brown so they could be pci slots :/
Those white ones look like regular PCI slots to me and one of your sticks of RAM is clearly broken.

Trial and error to see which stick it is.
The slots are regular PCI slots used for network cards, sound cards, and other shit other than graphics cards. Your AGP slot is obviously where ure graphics card goes.

It's very rare that you'll find a PCI-Express slot AND an AGP slot on the same mobo. I have PCI-Express slot and i have about 8 AGP graphics cards in my house :S sux hard.
pink is pci slot (you can buy lan, sound, graphic (only for pci slot, not pci-e, but they cost very much and they are not very good), i dont know wht is vrong whit ram :P
hmm, bastards. i bought 2 of those sticks of ram off ebay. bastard
and you didnt return it because you didnt know if they were working properly.

Nice :P :::D
You should clean it a bit. I see a lot of dust in the mem pic :)
you really suck around pc's, right? 8<
Jeah i guess so

Parent
oh im sorry, i didnt know computars were the be all and end all of life
Parent
you misinterpreted my accusation! im not saying there is anything wrong with not being good around computers, i was simply trying to establish what kind of help you needed. some people know how to operate a computer well, but dont have a clue what all the parts are called and what they do. others can build a pc without a problem but barely know how to do italics in word. where abouts are you? 8<
Parent
i can find parts and replace them, i have put in a new gfx card, harddisk, but i cant build from scratch i dont think.
i know the fundamentals of computing, but start talking to me about kernals, and RAID and overclocking, and im lost.

just used computers for a long time, everything is self taught
Parent
oky, fair enough

do you know wether all the ram chips are the same or wether they're different? the faster chips will adapt and run the same speed as the slower ones, which might make it run the same speed as 756 of the faster ram
Parent
buy 2 512mb's problem solved foony.
-You can see with Everest if you really have 4*256 Mo

-Maybe your video card takes some of your memory
its supposed to have 256mb onboard
Parent
onboard cards usually have shared memory, which means it will use 256 from your regular ram for the gfx
Parent
256 RAM is not truely 256 its always a bit less especially running 4 at a time therefore the lack of RAM that is shown

and as swas said 2 512's ot a single 1 GB would be alot better

edit: although i wouldnt imagine that the amount of RAM lost would be so much =\
RDRAM isnt made anymore so its mega exspensive
Parent
i guess you mean 768 instead of 756 and thats PCI not pci-express.
