i know memory is quite important....pls help me out.

im writing this cause i want to buy a new one this summer (after ive finished working) but i dont want to spend more than 800 € on it.

Nice computer for this price :)

well I think you can get faster ones for the same price, but I'm at work and this one was the first decent one in prize/prefrormance I found.

I think it's a good indication of what you can get for around 800 euro's.

A system with an intel C2D E6600 should deliver the same preformance, and maybe a little cheaper after the price drops of intel.

What's important... Depends on what you want to do. I guess a decent graphics card is required, a HD that's big enough, enough RAM (1GB at least), a good processor (3.0 GHz or more is fine imo). A big (17" or more) screen is advised, but not entirely necessary. That's about it I think.
what do you think about this:
* Intel® CoreTM 2 Duo Prozessor E4300
1.8 GHz, 2 MB L2 Cache, 800 MHz FSB
HD 320 GB, SATA Festplatte
8 MB Cache, 7.200 U/Min.
*
2.048 MB DDR2 SDRAM
* HDMI-graphic card NVIDIA® GeForce® 8400 GS

Yup, that looks pretty nice.

is it good enough to play games like et, cod, etc.?
what can be better/should i buy something in addition?

btw it costs 600€
Parent
Well, it should be good enough for most games, but I'd still recommend improving the processor: 1.8GHz isn't good at all (first time I thought it was 2.8)
Parent
ah ok, ye i noticed this too.
thx anyway.

8400 GS sucks, buy atleast an 8600GTX

also a 7600GTX preforms better as an 8600GTX but doesn't support dx10.

You can also buy an ATi X1950 they are also pretty cheap

okay i will mind that-

check my profile

intel core2duo CPU is never a bad choice
Intel Core2Duo 6300 [150€]
Asus P5B [~100€]
2x 1024 DDR2 1066 GeiL [~200€]
GeForce 8600GT [~150€]

I guess you can take the HDDs, case etc from your old computer. Maybe get yourself a new power supply [~50€].
do you know any websites where i can set up and order a pc like this?
Parent
ohh no more 2min waiting for you to be connected? ahahaha :p
Parent
EVGA nForce 650i is much better than Asus P5B + you can set memory and processor bus clocks separately.

Parent
Don't buy P5B, EVGA nForce 650i is the best mobo for Intel processors (on that price level of course).
