Well a few weeks ago i built a new system, and this evening it just died.
I was playing rtcw and it just turned off, and then started up again, i thought i might just have got a bit hot.
Then there was a massive woosh of smell from the pc, some sorta computery smell.
So i rushed to switch it off at the plug.
Now the pc will turn on and the fans come on, but the monitor would detect the graphics card, but not display an image. :S
However the smell seemed to have come from the psu (not entirely sure it was, but seemed like ;p), so i tried my old 350watt psu, and i got the 'press del for bios' screen, but nothing else.
So is it possible my hiper 580watt psu, which i think something happened to can still semi work, but not enuf to supply power to the gfx, and that my old psu is not powerful enuf to boot up the pc.
???????????????????????
Or could alot of things be broken, and just buying a new power supply will not fix the problem?
