Help! Performance!

hey dudes...

long time ago i had 125 fps stable in et and now somehow i only get like 40 fps on sw_goldrush if you look from the truck to the bank entrance. even with a high detail cfg i could get stable 100 fps at least. even in warsow i got 125 fps stable and now suddenly they go down to 60-80. playing with so less fps isnt funny :< just because you know, my connection is quite bad so my fps dont have to be bad aswell :'(

my specs:

cpu: pentium 4 (3 ghz)
ram: 1024 mb
gfx card: ati radeon x700 with 128 mb ram

is there any way to improve the performance of my pc (already tried overclocking my gfx card some time ago, but it almost destroyed it) ? or is there maybe any setting i could have changed that it works so bad/is there any setting in the catalyst control center which can improve my fps?

1 year ago i played et without any problems at 125 fps with high detailed cfg...but i just had an old gfx card driver which makes no sense

in normal cases, new driver = better performance

ati radeon x700 is REALY low gfx card, i doubt you get stable 125fps somehow,...

anyway, gfx maybe does problems after while of use..

i got r_swapinterval 0...1 would lower my fps but it would make the game smooth at least...but im lagging like your land's men :(

Dude, learn to play whit it. I have been played whit 10-40 fps since I started ET (1.5 years ago) and eaven whit this fps lag I can still hit well.

if u had stable 125 fps there is no option not to have it if u format ur drives install newest drivers for motherboard and graphics . If u rly dont want to format try to check if everything inside is ok ( not much dust , cooling system is working fine ) . Maight be helpful gl :)

check if PnkBstrB.exe is runnig and if so use punkbuster removaltool

formatting will help... one in a while your pc needs formatting.

i have exactly the same problem and i have better specs than you :/
Used to get 125fps stable evrywhere and somewhere donw the road my fps dropped to like 60 or even 55 at bank at goldrush or at karsiah.

I tried pretty much evrything and i think that a format is the only solution. I myself am too lazy to do that though.

could it be certain servers it happens on? i usually get 125 constant on GR but on some servers it drops to 70.
