need help on HD.

I want to buy a new harddisk but I do not know what to buy. Are these "cheap" harddisk (< €80) with alot of capacity(>250 gb) any good?
Is €50 for a 80 gb disk a good price?

Or just help me with giving some links to a good hd ~100 gb or around € 50.

thnx in advance

SATA or IDE??
dont know I have just a regular mobo wich is about 2 years old, and my HD's are about 6 years old xD. Is there a big price diffeence between SATA or IDE?

Coz if you have SATA, I'd suggest this one:

And for IDE, I'd suggest this one:

http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=50546caa4dc8f010VgnVCM100000dd04090aRCRD&locale=en-US

Since it's only 2 years old, you prolly have SATA, so take the first one...

thnx m8, some pc store tries to sell me a 80 gb disk for €50. But i see disk with more capacity for just a bit more euros. So i'd say nothnx to them.

:x 50 euros for 80 GB.
There are seagates 500 gb sata for 110 euros

it's correct, I worked in a pc shop, the price of a harddisk increases exponential...

Yea ok I believe you...

Why dont you just save some money to buy a bigger one?

Imo, get some more € and buy a 500gb hdd external. 109€ in portugal...
seagate or maxtor, no better hd`s
you are wrong there:

seagate > WD > maxtor :=)

I think you are wrong also, IBM drives are probably the best, but they are insanly priced and sort of put it out of a casual PC owners reach- mostly for business storage.

I personally like WD out of the three you mentioned. ;)

I dont think a casual PC owner is going to spend money on hdds for serverstuff ;P
Parent
hehe indeed ;)

I heard a lot about the raptor drives aswell, but they are pretty expensive for what they are. Id still take WD over pretty much all else atm just because I have had good experiences with them (although one did mess up, but I lost nothing :D)
