filenames/thumbails

so where are the filenames?
for some reason i dont see them anymore in my documents/my rec. files :/ they are still there in my pictures etc etc etc etc etc

soo how do i get em back?
and i dont want to switch to details/icons/list/tiles

it just randomly got bugged some day:/ first my documents and a few weeks later (i guess) my rec. files
