I've just moved to Oslo, and I live in a student flat where the internet comes for free through the University of Oslo's network.
It's a pretty decent connection, but it blocks out some ports (of course most ET ports, except 27000 and 27015). So I found out that it's possible to send the internet admins an e-mail with an application for opening a specific port.
Could anyone tell me the most common ET ports, or a range of ports? It also says I need to tell them ingoing and outgoing ports, which I have no clue of what is.
I'd also like to say that if you're searching a game and you ask me, I'm only giving you my IP because I can only play on that server, not because I'm lame x)

we dont care about it :p, aslong as it pings nice ;-)
UDP packets have a source and a destination port. So you should ask them to open up for incoming packets from any source port and the destination port 27960.
Likewise, outgoing packets should be allowed from source port 27960 to any port.
I sent a ticket to my uni hall IT department thing and they refused to unblock the ports for irc because they were a risk to security. But I can't honestly see why they would block the 27960 range etc.
Good luck with it anyway :P
It's kinda stupid though, on the site it says they allow Steam games etc, so I don't see why they block any gaming ports.
