ET Problem (maybe videocard)

So i gave my pc a format about 2 weeks ago and today i wanted to start playing ET again since im officially unemployed from my summer work.

Before the format i had this problem but after a restart everything would be ok.

This is what i get after connecting to the server (with the default config and also with a config).

I reinstalled the game with no success.
I tried different drivers with no success either.

Im guess my vga(9800 pro) is going to go soon.
What do u think?

i have a "new" monitor actually...a ViewSonic 20" inch wide screen. hmm.......

all i know when i put my displayrefresh too high it looks like z pic

the displayrefresh rate has to be the same as the monitors refresh rate?

it has to be that what you monitor can handle
try seta r_displayrefresh 60 all monitors can handle that
or maybe your vid card is broken

i disagree. to high a refreshrate will either give you a black screen, an out of range message if the osd of your screen supports it or it will just run at 60hz instead of the displayrefresh you selected.
