ok ive had an etproblem for a while now. it crashes on awaiting gamestate, without any error. it was also doing exactly the same thing on quake3 (pb servers + non-pb servers) except quake3 has actually given me an error msg :D:D:D

the error message is:

CL_PARSESERVERMESSAGE: ILLEGIBLE SERVER MESSAGE

now from the investigating i have done with the almighty power of www.google.com i have decided this doesn't really help me :p that error has something to do with buffer overflow which afaik was fixed in the et 2.60 patch. but i've also heard that it means i need to update ethernet card adapters. this is alot to read i know but this is the important bit. i have recently been getting popups usually containing something like: spywaredoctor, winantivirus 2007, 888.com, skypoker. i thought it was zango spyware which im in the process of getting rid of. i was thinking that the two were connected, or that some spyware is blocking me from connecting to servers, as for a while (now less frequently) something has been blocking me from logging into forums.

in short, has anyone had any of the above problems before? and if so, how did you fix them?
