hmm never knew this before, but idd, it's 5:4
anyway, when i still had my 19" crt 1280x1240 was the default resolution i think, so perhaps the monitor itself was 5:4 too? because it looked sharp to me
i have a 16:10 widescreen now (native 1680 x 1150) but if i use a resolution like 1280 x 800 (which is also 16:10) it doesn't show in fullscreen.. i mean, the tft automatically changes the resolution into a blurry 1280 x 960, so i get to see a 160 pixels high stroke of my desktop underneath ET
Mode 1: 400x300
Mode 2: 512x384
Mode 3: 640x480
Mode 4: 800x600
Mode 5: 960x720
Mode 6: 1024x768
Mode 7: 1152x864
Mode 8: 1280x1024
Mode 9: 1600x1200
Mode 10: 2048x1536
Mode 11: 856x480 (wide)
shitty splashdamage :(
1280x1024 only looks ok on the 17" TFT's, nowhere else.
1280x960 is the correct resolution, tft makers are retarded.
No. Because there isn't any. They created TFT's with 1024x768, 1600x1200.... then 1280x1024... it's very, very, dumb.

Honestly, if you put that into 1280x960 then looked at it again you would instantly see how stupid it was to use 1280x1024 all that time.
random fact: 1280x1024 @ et can only go as low as fov 94
you cant play @ fov 90 in 1280x1024 :)

any way to fix that?
I get the wierd desktop lines if I use too high r_displayrefresh
because those resolutions look good on tft.
1152 / 4 = 288
288 * 3 = 864
it's just another 4:3 resolution, I used to use it on my old crt (well, on the desktop, r_mode 4 is always the win)
Tracking is better, but things seem smaller and feels unnatural
