Demo/Movie font

How do I change the font when I watch demos?

I assume I replace a certain .pk3 with another one, but I'm not sure.

If this is true, where do I get these .pk3 files from, or how to make them?

edit: and dont just use a cutom font so you'll be using a custom font (some of the movies are really ruined by fonts that are even uglier than the original one). go for something similar to rtcw. simple characters, with a sufficient spacing.

I am using your movieconfig but am getting a horrible green on radar, really dark and ugly? Any ideas?

try changing gamma and intensity

and you can always adjust brightness and contras in the editing prog

original footage from my config doesn't look that good, but once you edit it a bit it looks great :)

Can't quite explain how crappy radar looks so I'll quickly upload a 10 second clip, if you could take a quick look that'd be cool.

The clip is at cl_avidemo 150 and rendered at 25fps. No other editing.

that is caused by an improper display refresh rate, from what i've heard. also notice the green puffs when you hit someone. i didnt have any of those problems, so i dont know much about it. try to play around with r_displayrefresh.

edit: i see that you've been changing some stuff in the config. check if texturebits are on 32 (or try setting them to 0).

and remove the black bands at the sides :)

Ok I'll try looking at the display refresh. And, I'm using Vegas, not adobe - I tried toggling the contrast and brightness and it looked better already. Are there any other settings I can change for instant results?

Also, what use is after-effects?

after effects has tons of effects, no other prog has, and its time remaping function allows good timescale manipulation, and therefore syncing ability

Cool. The r_displayrefresh was the problem with the bad textures and I've changed that. Changing the textburebits didn't seem to have any effect. It looked the same on 32 as 0? Strange?

no its ok then. i've tried a config once, and it had problems with texturebits 32. if its working for you, leave it be.

My advice: default font.

Not a single ET movie has actually pulled off using a custom font and making it look good in the history of ET movies, infact most make me wish I was jabbing blunt pencils into my open eyes.
