graphic card question

hey guys , i've been thinking about getting a new graphic card since i got ATI Radeon x200 that is integred but can be upgraded with a PCI Express.

so i've been thinking to get an Asus GeForce 8600GT http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=339826 . but the question is: can my PC handle it? Its an AMD Athlon 64 3400+ processor 2 Ghz.

sure, but your cpu will be your bottleneck :) so no need really to buy that kinda powerfull gfx card :)

you should get 125fps solid even with like a geforce 6200...

Just saying, a good gfx card won´t make you reach steady 125 fps :)


Me myself and i, use a Nvidia Geforce 7800 GTX (256mb) along with a AMD 4000+ (1mb cache). Maybe something like thqat, from the "7 serie". (and at the same time, save some money).

with computers, its like "if you want to change one thing, you need to change all other things". you can buy gfx card not so powerful as this one. or you can buy a new pc. and ofc you can buy a bike instead, like im doing atm :)

haha nice but i already got a bike :P so what do you guys recomend , something that will give me decent fps. with my integred one i can get 62-71 stable on all highfps maps and like 30-60 @ radar & grush & oasis

As said before, you´ll always have bottlenecks, in this case your cpu :)

A new gfx card will make your fps better yes... but it can´t do it all alone ;)

I say something from the 7 serie :)

processor is very important in ET, i heard that. and (at least in poland) they are pretty cheap now, so i think best option would be to split the cash on both. I dont have that much money though :(

Upgrade your cpu and (if you can) buy a mid range vid card. Nvidia imo.

to me, ati failed hard :D buy nvidia and dont believe all those who say "nvidia sux" or "ati>nvidia" :-)
