but still, i think A LOT of people that only played the beta cba to buy etqw now, because they already know the game isn't like everyone hoped it would be
im quite sure i would have bought etqw if i hadn't played the beta
the beta version, and especially beta 1, fucked up a lot of etplayers opinions about the game imo
just think about it.. if there wasn't any beta/demo, people would still be looking forward to this game, and run to the shops in october
this might aswell have improved the general attitude towards the game, because noone likes to say a game, for which he just paid 50 euros, sucks
ok last thing might go a little too far, but i still think hosting a beta wasn't a very good idea
true, but downloading the beta on my 1200€ new pc and realising i got 40 fps on a "rivatuner" config i didnt think it was better than UT2004 in its days :)

just saying the beta/demo convinced me that this isn't the game i like to spend my next few years on playing competitively
