Messenger!?

I always used to have messenger 7.0 (no beta or smth), but since today it started asking "want to update" [ ]yes / [ ]no, so i pressed [x]no and it shut down. So I started up messenger again but it asked me once again, want to update? So I pressed yes and now I have this stupid messenger LIVE which causes "Poland lag" when it starts up etc. (Giving it a lower priority from my cpu will cause errors in messenger live so that didnt work). My question is whether someone knows a way to keep 7.0 without asking for updates (because if you dont update it wont work anymore), and afaik you can't disable "search for updates" or something like that in the EXTRA menu of messenger :<

Btw: Reinstall wont work because first thing it does is ask for update.

Well in ET I also have lag due to msn but with 7.0 it's far less compared to live. The main problem actually is that my pc sort of "freezes" if I start messenger up and it takes a few seconds and then everything pops up... never had this with 7.0 :<

if i run msn 8.5, everytime someone comes online, then you hear.. PING.. and then my ping raises from 48 to 200 :D so i always turn of msn b4 gaming.

used to do so aswell, but since 7.0 it wasnt necessary... but now it seems to be again!

yup but np4me, im so populair that 100 ppl are spamming me on msn, so its not able to game while msn is running :D *gehhgegeh*

download messenger vista beta
the design isnt that good becasue its just better but its lagfree for me ...
