Can't find any REALSUPARSUPAR-panel.. which everyone suggests a gamer to buy. And it shouldn't be a filhty widescreen shitbag.

i played bioshock with my wide screen, and i didnt have any problem...

so far every game didnt do me problems with my wide screen.

and further more, some ppl dont use wide screen for games, also for movies and other stuff.

No im playing with an optical mouse, afaik laser is newer and better111
And yes I'm still playing on a 19" iiyama vision master. I tried a TFT for some time but it felt pretty ghey playing Quake @ 75fps so I switched back to my crt. Kept the TFT as second display.

If you play FPS, CRT is the obvious choice unless you dont have the desktop space. I have to admit i had to turn my setup 45% degrees relative to my desktop to get it working, as i didnt have enough room to put my razer mantis and keyboard in front of my screen.

new =/= better

yeah, I absolutely agree with your point of view. I'm also viewing my screen from an 45° angle.. and I thought tfts nowadays would be good enough to keep up with the crts. Yet I didn't play q3 on a tft.. but since ETQW only gives you 100fps (if you're lucky enoguh to get it stable) I think a TFt would be ok. Same goes for WoW which doesn't require that much of displayrefresh since it's not that smooth.

Yeah, Quake is mostly the reason I dont make the switch. If you are used to 125fps/120hz going back is impossible. I got headaches from playing on the TFT xD

I'm playing custum hz ! 125hz/125fps .. it's just awesome. Like you'd go to heaven :-/

When i play fps = hz i get tearing unless I use vsync aka sync every frame. My moni should be able to do 130hz but i never got it working :/ How did you get the custom rates working?

Opengl by default buffers 2 frames, you would add another 1second/fps delay to the 2 frames* 1second/fps delay. DirectX allows you to set prerenderlimit to 0, removing any delay. UT ppl used to play using directX instead of opengl as it gave better mouseinputs if made the right tweak.

I used 100hz/100fps and got tearing aswell, then I set com_maxfps 101 instead of 100 and it was perfectly smooth. (In ET)

it's "TORN" somehow. Just a distorted torn and drawn image.. You can't get used to a gayish widescreen. It's absolutely nonsense to get one.

Referring the ergonimic issue. You're reading up -> down if it's masses of test. not left to right.

There are no good LCD for gaming, stay with CRT if you want to be super gaming PRO.
I bought samsung 226bw few days ago which is considered one of the best LCD's for games, and it suck (for fast games, playing Q3 on that is just sad). Anyone saying that CRT=LCD in terms of responsiveness is a moron.

but, for non fps like games, like mmorpgs or something else, lcd's are as good as anything, they are so nice and cuddly, i can like pick my 22" lcd up with one hand and move it around the place, not like my 19" crt which is a monster =D and lcd's are lighter, take less space, and take less power and you dont get as tired as you would when you are beeing crt'ðed

Es stimmt schon, dass n Widescreen fuers Augenfeld ok sein sollte.. siehst daran, dass, wenn du auf den 4:3 Monitor guckst das daneben auch wahrnimmst. Dennoch glaub ich net, dass es beim Zocken so optimal ist.. Spielst ET auch mitm widescreen?
