New games?

Hi,

my brother is looking for some games to play on his new laptop...and
since i don't know anything about pc-games i need ur help!
he is looking for a shooter but nothing like ET or CS:S, more a strategic
shooter with a decent storie like mafia or the godfather so not a "shoot
everything that moves" game :)
Also he hates the idea of alien trash so no doom or anything ;)

any ideas?
