setting up a linux ubuntu server

me and my cousin bought an low spec pc to set up our own linux ubuntu server.
now i need some guids how to set up the server.
we need some links or even some good books to start with cause we did not touch linux before

can you give me some specs please so i can guide u a bit like some info of your processor

i can tell you that ubuntu isint the best choise for server

cpu @ 1.6 ghz pentium
1gb ram
80gb harddisk

Imho setting up fedora core server would be a bit easier as it got imho quite much more manuals and FAQ's for server admins.. :X

btw use openbsd for a server
