usb polling rate problem

Hi dudes,

Having trouble here setting my usb polling rate back to the default 125hz. I was using 250hz with diamondback for ages and was happy with that. However today I go to install a joystick that I want to use for a flight sim and I'm pretty sure the stick aint working because the polling rate is stuck at 250hz no matter what I do. Its an old Logitech Wingman Attack 2 stick that i borrowed off my bro - ancient circa 2000 i reckon so that pretty much guarantees it wont like 250hz imo.

I have used anirs USB Mouserate Switcher v1.1and hidusbf by sweetflow to try set it back to 125. I even tried upping it to 500hz and lowering it to but NOTHING seems to work, its just stuck at 250hz whenever I run mouserate.exe.

Does someone know where in the registry I could possibly modify the usb rate manually or I do remember raziel starting all this polling rate using a hexeditor to change values. Where or what values they are I have no clue. If anyone has any suggestions however insignificant regarding this problem throw them at me here. Any lead is a good lead.

Thanks,
Rapp

OK I think I got a moment of clarity there, C:\WINDOWS\system32 is that where usbport.sys is meant to go or is it just C:/windows?
none of both

Red alert over. All fixed up now. Just put an original usbport.sys in wrong directory. C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers was correct directory for the file.

"none of both"??? neither would be a better word in this case mi amigo. If you knew it didn't go in those paths I mentioned why didn't you give me the real path I needed? If your below the age of 18 don't bother replying as I'll know the reason.

windowsfolder\system32\drivers

How did you change polling for the first time? Using one of the mentioned programs or with Razer drivers? I think you have to use the very same procedure to get it back to 125 Hz.

I used hidusbf by sweetlow as it basically trounces usb rate switcher to pieces - no safe mode and restarting required. You can also select mouses only so it wont affect your other usb devices such as mp3 player, JOYSTICKS!!!111 and other usb shit you might have plugged in.

USB Rate Switcher basically will leave everything operating on whatever hz u go for potentially causing problems with certain devices. Its fixed now anyway westi and thanks for the correct path, it all kinda came back to me as I put it down on paper if you catch my drift.

Thanks for the effort mate, don't I know you from somewhere? q3 ET perhaps? Anyway thats version 0.5 its up to 1.1 now. But if you are going to switch your hz I would highly recommend using this: http://sweetlow.at.tut.by/download/hidusbf.zip instead.
