I dont know wtf is TNT and zomgn theres alrdy 4ghz cpu. ;< ET needs a good CPU to get higher FPS. But with GW for example, you realy a decent GFX card to work nice.

2. r_colorbits 16 and r_texturebits 16 are the best fps raising commands there are, coz picmip cant be set higher then 3 (almost useless to do then, for fps)
3. r_mode 4 is way better then r_mode 6 for fps.

I had a AMD 1200 T-bird (1.2ghz cpu) with a geforce fx5200 128 MB gfxcard and 512 MB RAM memory on the mainboard. That is low, and I tweaked a lot, trying out fps stuff many times.
But, then again, it depends on how low pc you have, what kind of processor and gfxcard.
but at least you try to help him ;) allow me to update your knowledge in these fps settings. Last thing, if radar gives you less then 43 fps, go r_mode 3 and raise the cg_crosshairsize to minimal 46. Theres a big fps difference, between playable and unplayable :)
Depthbits is allowed, they fixed the bug. R_fastsky 1 gives atleast 10-15 fps boost and it's a big diffrence. R_ignorehwgamma and r_overbrightbits gives abit fps, not much, because theres less details.
I know r_mkode 4 is better for fps, but peoples prefer playing with a "better"-looking cfg, r_mode 4 looks abit wierd ( I use 4 aswell).
hehheh, ok, but you have a good cpu, and then it is also possible to overclock the gfx card for very nice fps. With a shitty cpu it's useless trying to overclock the gfx card. So good cpu is better then a high gfx card.

well, if you have a 3.0 Ghz processor, that is high for ET.
And Rivatuner overclocks the GFXcard for you, with an easy interface and test mode (so you can't harm your hardware). I tried riva back then and it didn't give me the fps I wanted, by overclocking. I never fucked around with texturesettings (r_picmip 40 look-a-like is possible with riva)

These are your main FPS boost cfg. I get around 200 fps with one of the shittest hardware the community is aware of.

download taskassign (use google) to auto-assign affinity to both of the cores and it should run fine
My bottleneck on the other hand is my GFX card
Better CPU on my last PC but gay GFX card is laggy , low fps :(
