What is your sound device? What sound card is it? Are you using onboard sound and need drivers?

Well if it's onboard sound, you should have a driver disc for your motherboard (even though it's a laptop) with drivers to allow you to use onboard sound.

Alternatively if you don't have the disc, just go onto Intel's site and search for model numbers. There will be drivers available from their site as well.

After you install drivers you then might need to enable onboard sound in either your BIOS or via the Windows hardware settings. I've never used onboard and every motherboard is different, so after the drivers are installed it may be enabled automatically or it may be not.

i have those drivers, but only for vista and they dont work with xp (allready tried)
the sound is activated in the bios, worked with vista before i killed that

Well, you have two options. You can either install Vista again or you can somehow find drivers for your motherboard that run on Windows XP. If there are any XP drivers for your motherboard/sound-device then you're pretty fucked for options as I'm not sure it's possible to buy sound-cards for laptops let alone how the fuck you would install them. :-/
