I managed to finally install sound (horray) now I need to make sound work in ET
I'm using Ubuntu 7.04
Can anyone tell me what I need to do for this to work properly?

Also, is it possible to run ETQW (retail) under linux (via wine? ) or something yet?

And QW does run under wine
Using Google I've noticed a few people has had this problem, but the suggestions they mention don't work for me -_-
They know how to fix it, im sure, just connect to their IRC server (freenode or smth?) and join their irc-chan.
for me it works pretty well.

edit: as well only root can attach that.

Geez, I remember the days when I'd get accused of cheating just for having [linux] in /cheaters, nevermind a ???
I tried to go through the SDL setup too but that don't work @:<
I typed /copy pasted:
sudo su
echo "et.x86 0 0 direct" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss
echo "et.x86 0 0 disable" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0c/oss
Still nothing.
