p2p problem!

I have two laptops, one is broken, one is not! However on the broken laptop I can torrent quite happily, one the new laptop I cannot! What could possibly be the problem?

Broken Laptop = XP
New Laptop = Vista

This is the ONLY difference between the two, other than the version of bitcomet I use. On the new laptop I can only get about 1kbs down and 0 up, on the exact same torrent on the broken laptop i can get 200kbs down.

WHY WHY WHY :(

Using ET port for torrents since I've found out about them - works perfectly (with kTorrent)!

On which one you've installed ETQW?
dunno :( vista just sux imo :D
I had 800 kb/sec in azureus with vista :P

Check windows defender and firewall ?

Also try changing ports!
check firewall.. it also may be blocked by the router
It's Microsoft telling you they failed again
try utorrent, bitcomet is kinda shit
isn't vista using a kind of DRM protection or someshit like that ?!
yes, and everything you download off the internet is automatically sent to microsoft.

Disable Receive Window Auto-Tuning Level on TCP/IP

1. Open a command prompt with administrator rights.
2. Input the following command, and press Enter when done:

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable
3. Restart the system.

If the problem still exists, it’s more likely caused by other reasons such as maximum concurrent connection attempt limit. In this case, we can re-enable the Auto Tuning for good.

Enable Receive Window Auto-Tuning Level on TCP/IP

1. Open a command prompt with administrator rights.
2. Input the following command, and press Enter when done:

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal
3. Restart the system.

Quote1. Open a command prompt with administrator rights.

Right click the cmd.exe in the windows system subfolder and select run as administrator, you dont get that option with start > run.

bit comet tells me my half open tcp level is too small

Vista hardcodes the concurrent tcp connection limits, you have to patch around that.

Try here

xp has the same issue afaik?
Parent
It was put in and taken back out then put back in again in various patches and updates with XP. It's a simple regfix for XP though.

You should seriously reformat and use XP and wait for Service Pack for vista imoToss
Parent
you also could use a livecd for leeching
