I bought my new laptop yesterday and it has Vista Home Premium on it, when I tried to format and install XP (SP2) however I got the blue screen during the loading of the XP CD. I've googled some and many people suggest to slipstream XP SP2, I don't know if this is the only solution?
microsoft.com mentioned problems like hardware conflicts/not enough memory/HD, but I dont think the problem is that...
system:
15,4"" WSXGA+ TFT (1680 x 1050 Pixel)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (2.40 GHz / 4 MB L2 / 1066 MHz)
2048 (2x 1024) MB DDR2
160 GB
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 512 MB
edit: working with English XP OS, dutch one gave some probs, thx anyway!

What notebook did you buy :> specs?
Should be no prob then :/
I know Vista is giving alot of trouble with other O/S
Especially for Linux , but i installed ubuntu without problem and can access both without any research :D
Anyway , it should be possible installing on D:
Then you can format C with Vista , install XP on C: and format D:
Or just keep it on D :D
If you need another partition you could download Acronis Disk manger to add a new one :)
Vista hasn't problem with xp or older windows but don't know the unix system...:(
Smart thinking mate :)
but of course this shouldn't be a problem during the boot and loading the install system of the xp...
I use only vista and it's working fine!(as fast as xp but with much better feeling!:D)
Vista is just terrible imo.
